The Logic of Pencils vs. People
(A brief discussion with Ana over breakfast)
She (holding up a newly sharpened pencil decorated with Halloween bats): "The people win, the pencils use."
Me: "Huh?"
She: "People use pencils more than pencils use people!"

No More Looth Tooth

Followed by an argument over the Tooth Fairy when I said the protocol is to put the tooth under a pillow to find it replaced by money in the morning. She argued that you only get money if you put it in a glass of water; then that, instead of money, the Fairy might leave a small pillow under the pillow (??). I suggested that everyone has a different Fairy and that maybe we ought just see what our Fairy leaves. She seemed to think this a good idea.

Post-punk Tea Party
A cold Summer night tea party in pajamas, jackets and socks on the porch with lit candles and watermelon cubes on toothpicks, playing lip sync (Ana mouthing the words, then forcing me to sing faster by moving her mouth faster and wildly tossing her head about so that the spiritual folk tune turned into a staccato post-punk ditty).
That's probably so wrong to follow "post-punk" with "ditty."
